Stamped Silverware

Happy Tuesday Friends!

Today I am back again sharing a fun, simple gift idea for the upcoming Holidays.

These are a couple other ideas I have shared that would make great gifts:

Upcycled Spindle Box

DIY Candlesticks

Wine Bottle Stoppers

For this project these are the items needed:

TEKTON Letter and Number Stamp Set

Small Hammer
Black Sharpie Permanent Marker
Hard Surface – I used a small butcher block cutting board.
Silverware

Choose a few favorite words or sayings to stamp onto the silverware.

Steps:
1.) Stamp each letter of your saying or word by holding it to the silverware and then taping down on the stamp a couple of times with a hammer.
2.) Once you have your saying completed, using a black Sharpie permanent marker color in  each letter and then wipe back off.

This is how the words look before adding the marker:

This is how they look after adding the marker and wiping it back off:

Each letter now stands out!

It really makes a fun and personalized gift for any coffee or tea lover!

It is also a great way to repurpose old vintage silverware that you may not be using anymore and is just sitting in a drawer somewhere.

  1. Can you use them for food after using the marker? I got a spoon stamped as a gift and it just sits in my silverware caddy. Would love to make some of my own just don’t know if they are decorative or can be used

    1. I was wondering the same thing. I wouldn’t use them after the marker. Depending on the metal content I might not use them after it was stamped either. But certainly could if you stamped the handle.

    1. Hi Judy! I would say it is up to your preference… I keep mine on mine coffee bar for decoration and I also use mine when making coffee. The lettering has not lost any coloring during use. Mine also get out in our dishwasher for cleaning too. I’m not aware of another alternative for darkening the letters, but I haven’t looked for one either. You could also not darken the letters too.
