Happy Sunday Friends!
I am so excited to share a project that I have been wanting to tackle for awhile. A couple weeks ago I asked a friend about coming over to make ornament wreaths with me. I spent a week gathering vintage ornaments at a few different thrift stores. Making the wreath really becomes inexpensive when you can by all the ornaments thrifted. Many of the boxes of ornaments only cost me $1.00 or $2.00 each.
I would estimate that I used about 150 ornaments to make a wreath with a 14 inch straw wreath form. To begin you first wrap the wreath form with tinsel garland. Wrapping the wreath form with garland is very important for two reasons… it covers having the wreath visible if there are any gaps between the ornaments and it gives you something pretty to see from the back and side if you are hanging it on a door with a window.
After wrapping the wreath form with garland the next step is to glue ornaments to the wreath form on the inside edge and then again to the outside ledge. Have your glue gun and glue sticks ready!
Next is the fun part! Begin attaching ornaments to the top portion of the wreath. I continue doing this until I thought it was filled in enough.
It is one of most favorite projects to date! I love how it turned out. I primarily used gold and silver ornaments in different sizes and shades and then added different colors throughout.
Thanks for stopping by!

Absolutely beautiful!! I would never have thought to use the garland behind it. Thanks for sharing, I love it! Merry Christmas!!

Can’t wait to try this once I collect enough ornaments. I just had the opportunity to go through all my grandmother’s ornaments and pick out my favorites.
