Happy Sunday Friends!
What a busy week! Our littlest guy turned 5 years old this last week. It is so hard to believe how quickly they grow and get older. The time truly does pass by too quickly! It is also hard to believe that we are already into February! We are half way through Winter… so they say anyways… Winter can sometimes drag into late April and May here in Michigan, but I am always optimistic for sunshine in early Spring.
A few days ago I shared a monthly blog recap for January. I truly appreciate all who take a moment to find my little corner of blogland.
I also spent a few days in January getting the rest of my Christmas decor put away and “quieting” the surfaces in our home. As much as I enjoy decorating for the Holidays I always love the freshness of our home after things are put away following the Holidays. I keep a few winter decor items out here and there, but try to keep the decor mostly simple.
I chose to keep my faux mercury glass bottles out as part of my Winter decor and thought it would be fun to share how I made them.
Items needed:
Krylon Looking Glass Spray PaintVarious bottles of different sizes & shapes
Spray Bottle
Vinegar
Water
Paper Towel
Here is how you make faux mercury glass bottles:
-Mix equal parts vinegar & water into a spray bottle
-Spray bottle with water mixture
-Quickly begin spraying bottle with the Looking Glass Spray Paint
-Spray Paint will appear to have bubbles where the water mixture is
-Let spray paint dry on bottle
-Once dry…lightly wipe down the jar, “popping” the bubbles from the water mixture
How do you like to decorate for Winter?
