DIY Frosted Bottles

DIY Frosted Bottles Title

Happy Monday Friends!

I am popping in with a quick project I tackled this weekend. As I am refreshing our home this Spring I wanted to bring some more flowers and greenery in to our living room. If you remember, awhile back I shared my DIY Mercury Glass Bottles. I loved decorating with them this Winter and wondered how I could create something similar for Spring.

I saw this Krylon Glass Frosting Spray Paint and thought that it would do the trick!DIY Frosted Bottles001

Over a couple of weeks I gathered some bottles of different shapes and sizes from a few local thrift stores. You can find some of my favorite things to look for at thrift stores HERE.

After finding a few bottles I liked, I simply sprayed each one with the paint. I layered on a few coats letting is dry between each. The paint goes on looking transparent and wet. It quickly changes over to give you a frosted look.

Once dry completely, I added a few sprigs of greenery and flowers to the set I created and just love how they look!

I mixed them in with the mercury glass bottles and just love how they look with them too.

  1. Luckily I have a can of such spray paint! Great idea as a way to dress up plain vases and make them more interesting. Visiting from Homemade and Handcrafted party.

  2. This is a wonderful upcycle project for bottles, jars, or those vases that come from the florist and seem to multiply in the pantry. I had never seen the Krylon frosted glass finish before. Thanks for the tip!

  3. The end result is so pretty! Thank you for sharing… you know, I have so many old bottles with great shapes, and it hurts me to part with them. This would be a great easy DIY project (and a way of sprucing up some corners of the apartment for spring!).
XOXO and found you via SITS!

  4. I’m always looking for ways to upcycle old bottles, and this is brilliant! I love the look of frosted glass. It makes the bottles look so much more interesting and elegant. I can’t wait to try it!
