Happy Monday Friends!
I love everything about Spring….seeing the first Robin, the longer days, everything turning green and new! The freshness of Spring is energizing. The warmer days welcome us to enjoy more activity outdoors. We actually fired up our outdoor grill for the first time a few days ago and with all of our snow gone which is very unusual & early for Central Michigan, getting outside to start Spring projects has been nice.
Every year I always rush to open a window or two on warmer days. Feeling the fresh air breeze through the windows is so cleansing for our home. That feeling got me thinking of some other ways I like to refresh our home once the sunshine and warmer weather hits.
Fresh Flowers
Having fresh flowers in our house is such a treat! I picked up a bouquet of tulips to freshen up the house on the afternoon of my monthly book club. The flowers brought a smile to not only my face every time I saw them sitting on our dining room table, but to everyone else’s too.
Clean Surfaces
Taking everything off our shelves, walls, and other surfaces & giving them a good cleaning, breathes in a feeling of new. It removes all the stagnant energy left behind from the confinement of Winter. Having this essential “to-do” item off my list is always nice.
Greenery
Whether it is faux or real, one of the first things I do in our home to welcome Spring is to begin adding greenery. Searching the greenhouse area of nearby stores is a favorite Spring activity of mine. Although I am have no green thumb,I still love bringing home a plant or two.
Fresh Floral Colors
Every Spring I enjoy adding a few colors that I wouldn’t typically use around our house. I love pastel floral decorating items, but I don’t usually have a place for them in our everyday decor. Spring is the time when I will throw in a couple of items for a sweet seasonal touch.
Blooming Branches
We are lucky enough to have six flowering trees all of a different variety on our property. Having so many options right in our backyard allows me to bring them inside once they begin blooming.
These are just a few ways I love to refresh our home in the Spring. I try to keep my Spring decorating as simple as I can so it frees me up to begin working in our yard and my flower beds.
I wanted to share this book that I am loving right now. I highly recommend it! It is so beautiful and easy to follow. If you aspire to have a garden of beautiful blooms like I do than I would definitely grab this book
when you have the time.
Another thing that I would love to share with you all is that a few instagram friends of mine are hosting a new hashtag party every Wednesday. We would love for you to share with us how you use Nature in your vintage, antique farmhouse decor using #thenaturalfarmhouse
