Happy Tuesday Friends!
I am here today sharing a tour of our very vintage Christmas home. Why vintage because practically everything I have decorated with has been made, thrifted, or picked from a flea market by me. Grab a your favorite beverage and get comfortable while I show you around our home.
I will start out in a favorite little corner of mine. A while back I shared this little corner which holds my vintage plate wall.
This corner is part of our small dining room that is attached to our kitchen.
While thrifting I found this old metal light fixture. I have had a lot of fun decorating with it.
Here I had fun decorating it for Fall and now I have add a few touches of Christmas to it.
Our dining room also holds a hutch which belonged to a great-uncle of mine. I have had it for years and about fourteen years ago I painted it black and added nickel knobs to it. It has stayed that way the whole fourteen years and has moved from home to home with me.
It is in need of an updated paint job, but it is still one of my favorite and most used pieces of furniture. It also holds a favorite project of mine, a white jug lamp I made a couple of years ago.
I love decorating with vintage ornaments. I am always on the look out for them at thrift stores or yard sales. My collection is growing. I love to put them in a pretty container like this spindle box I made and set them throughout the house during the Holidays.
Another favorite item I love to collect are vintage santa mugs. Most of the ones I have I have either purchased thru Etsy or found at a thrift store.
We can head into our living room now. This is the room you walk into from our front porch. I wasn’t sure it would have room for our full size tree, but I found a spot that fit it well.
This dresser is our drop zone as you walk thru the front door. It was another thrift store find and in our old home was used in our kitchen. Having so many drawers is so handy for any type of organization especially as you walk thru the front door.
Don’t you just love the twinkle of a Christmas tree at night!
This is a favorite little vignette of mine on the other side of our living room.
The Happy Holidays sign is made from an old flower press.
Using the same mercury glass technique as these mason jars, I made a few different size glass jugs to place some evergreens in.
Let’s head downstairs to our family room…
The basement of our home is another whole level to our home that has my oldest son’s room, a family room, laundry room, my crafting space, full bathroom, and walkout area to our back yard that includes a fireplace and mantle.
We spend a ton of time in this area of our house. Most weekends you can find teenage boys hanging out.
Last week I shared a few glimpses from our previous home. One of my favorite thing about our old home was the fireplace mantle. I was so happy our new home still had a brick fireplace with a mantle. My niece helped me paint it white, because anyone who knows me knows that I love painting everything white.
We have only had a chance to make one fire in the fireplace, but are looking forward to making a few more this Winter as the temperature drops.
The basement also holds has a little corner where I created a little office nook.
A couple of weeks ago I made another set of DIY Candlesticks to place in the corner for Christmas deocrating.
I filled the shelf with a few other vintage favorites of mine – ironstone, bottle brushes, brass candlesticks and an old camera.
I hope you enjoyed having glimpse into our home all decorated for the Holidays!
Feel free to come back again friends!
