Happy Saturday Friends!
What a busy week! I am spending some time today doing a little Christmas shopping and it got me thinking that I should share some of recent thrifting finds with you.
I love a good day of thrifting! I actually prefer it over any other type of shopping except maybe shopping for books. I love finding unique one-of-a-kind items for our home. Another hobby of mine is also finding items to pass along to others. This Summer I attended a couple vintage fleas as a vendor and I loved it! I loved meeting people face to face who have a love of decorating their homes with flea and thrifted finds. It was so nice to hear compliments from buyers on the items I had curated for the shows. Michigan winters don’t allow for year round outdoor markets so I decided I would relaunch my Etsy shop and keep it open through the winter months. Lately I have been busy gathering items to add to the shop.
Here are a few of my favorite finds…
I fell in love with this large paint-by-number barn painting. It is one of the largest I have found. Vintage paint-by-number paintings always catch my eye and I usually nab them if the price is right.
Another items I always, always check at thrift stores are vintage Reader’s Digest books. I love finding a hidden treasure once you peel back the old paper book cover. These pretty blue ones will end up on a shelf of mine. Actually most of these items will stay with me and not get added to the shop. I fell in love with them all.
I loved this set of pretty floral metal trays when I came across them. I was not walking away from them! I may keep one or two to hang on a wall in my kitchen and then place the rest in my shop. The blue pottery canister has such a pretty texture to it too.
This old light fixture is also staying with me. I instantly saw it as a table centerpiece with pillar candles. I most likely will be using it on our table for the holiday season. I envision it with some pretty greens in the middle.
When I came across this wooden box I loved how interesting the detail was on it. I love finding unique items and this is very unique. The front lid opens to give you space for storage. Because of how interesting it is I will be keeping this for our house too. Are you starting to see a pattern?
These pretty blue books will be saved for an upcoming sale I host locally. I just love a pretty book stack and I found that the book stacks that I curated for each of the outdoor markets I attended went really fast each time.
This turquoise canister and glass set will most likely be listed in the Etsy shop.
I love anything turquoise and it is hard to find this color glassware in my area. Of course they had to come home with me! I am hoping someone loves them as much as I do.
Have you done any thrifting lately? If so, what have you found?
Thanks for stopping by!
